X-Analytics Product Update: September 16, 2024

Here at X-Analytics we want to ensure we are always delivering value and innovation. In that regard, we are pleased to announce the latest release of updates to the X-Analytics application on August 20, 2024.

Below is a summary of updates released to the application. If you are an X-Analytics customer and would like further information, please contact your Customer Success Lead.

Methodology Update

To better account the interconnectedness between threat and asset applicability, the data breach loss methodology has been updated for non-applicable assets and threats.

Previously, X-Analytics processed these as "blank" values, which didn't impact the data breach probability. Now, non-applicable assets are treated as "zero" values, providing a more accurate way to account for data breach probability. A zero value, when averaged with non-zero values, lowers the risk index and reduces the data breach probability.

How this may affect your exposure values:

  • If you don’t have non-applicable PoS assets or threat categories, this update would not affect your data breach exposure value.

  • If you do have non-applicable PoS assets or threat categories, this update would have caused a decrease in your data breach exposure value, as expected.

New Features & Functionality

Update to NIST CSF 2.0 profile

Keeping up with the Joneses can be tough, but we try . . . We've updated our NIST CSF 2.0 input structure to mirror that of many external audit assessments by allowing for the entry of a 0 to 5 maturity value, up to two decimal places. Yes, that means you can eek out all the control maturity you can by moving from 3.25 to a 3.28.

Additional Features

  • General maintenance to improve application structure and performance.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug where cyber insurance inputs were not submitting properly to the system after "save and submit".

  • Fixed bug with Ransome Payment question removing cyber insurance benefit.

  • Fixed bug were a "no threat" input within Threat Likelihood would create a "0" value within the data breach exposure loss category.
